Rose Cushing has had a significant impact in the equine industry and business in general for women of all ages. When choosing a career path, she lets her passion guide her choices. When doors did not open easily, Rose created her opportunities. Rose asked why not when she was told she could not do something. Arming herself with whatever knowledge she would need, never being afraid to seek advice, and always being willing to mentor, Rose has established herself as a respected member of the business community and a role model.

In 2021 Rose wrote her first novel and now mentors writers to help with their success. Realizing the daunting task of marketing a book, she launched two new literary podcasts featuring authors in all stages of their writing journey. Rose hopes that this will give these writers, predominantly women, the same opportunities as her endeavors in the equestrian world. Rose believes that “belief in yourself” is the most powerful tool you will ever have. Rose has been committed to nurturing that positive self-image in women old and young.

Rose Cushing was born in New Bern, North Carolina, and graduated from New Bern High School. She attended various business development classes at Johnston Community College. Rose has lived in Middlesex for 24 years, and her businesses are operated out of her home.

 Rose Cushing has served on the Advisory Board Johnston Community College Small Business, Advisory Board for Martin Community College Equine Program, Nash County Farm Bureau Equine Representation, and the North Carolina Horse Council Executive Board Member.

Rose is also a member of the Franklin County Arts Council, the Franklin County Writers Guild member, Past-President of the Triangle East Writers, and a North Carolina Writers Network member.

Rose proudly supports organizations such as Miss Rodeo North Carolina, 4H, and FFA.

 Rose Cushing stands out as an innovator embracing technology, networking, and building relationships to become successful while helping others around her achieve their goals. Rose has worked hard to establish long-lasting relationships in her field that would benefit herself and all who follow, to make connections, accept the challenges, and be inspired to win.

 Rose is a humanitarian, always putting the horse’s welfare in the equestrian world. She has been an advocate for women in business, inspiring them to go for it and mentoring them. Rose has worked tirelessly giving back with groups such as the Salvation Army Toys for Children, Disaster Relief in North Carolina and the Southeast coast as far as Florida, and animal welfare. Rose has a large following on social media and works consistently to post encouragement for women to lift each other and support each other.

 Rose displays these characteristics in her professional life and her personal life. Her favorite saying is, “My mother and father taught me that I should if I could help someone. I could worry about myself later.”

Rose Cushing won three Equus Film Festival Awards:

1) Her documentary Flood of Emotion, based on the extensive damage from Hurricane Florence;
